Cahoon

A new theme for Jekyll.

Overview

Cahoon is a beautiful new responsive theme for Jekyll, a blog-aware, static site generator. It's built on Skeleton with a helping of Bootstrap 3.

  • Header Images for blog posts - easily set in the front matter for each post
  • Disqus Comments optional
  • No plug-ins required
  • Social media links - easily set _config.yml

Demo

I use Cahoon on my personal website.

Setup

  1. Install Jekyll
  2. Fork or download this theme repo
  3. Edit the _config.yml file

Each post can have header image. Edit it in the post's front matter:

title: A Weekend on the Coast
layout: post
date: 2014-01-25 07:55:20
categories: beaches
header: imgUrl

Further Customization

Cahoon's appearance can be easily customized by modifying the /stylesheets/layout.css stylesheet. This includes changing colors and fonts. You can also change the grid settings by modifying or overriding /stylesheets/skeleton.css.

Resources Implemented
What's in a name?

Cahoon Hallow is a beach in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. <<<<<<< HEAD

Usage

I would love to see where Cahoon gets used (or gets turned into). Send me an email, tweet, or even open an issue here -- anything works!
