Jekyll Workstation

Vagrant workstation for Jekyll based blogging.

Prerequisites

In order to use Jekyll workstation you need to install VirtualBox, Vagrant and the vagrant-vbguest Vagrant plugin:

• Install VirtualBox
• Install Vagrant
• Install vagrant-vbguest Vagrant plugin (vagrant plugin install vagrant-vbguest)

Other setups can easily work, but I have tested only on my local computer which has the following setup:

• Windows 10 Pro ENG x64
• VirtualBox x64 5.0.26 r108824
• Vagrant 1.8.5

Installation

After installing the prerequisites the only thing you need is to clone this repository to your machine.

How to use

It is not mandatory, but to be compatible with features come later you should put your site sources into the shared/site directory as a subdirectory. E.g. shared/site/one-site and shared/site/another-site and so on.

After this you can start the workstation by executing the following commands in the cloned repository's directory

$ vagrant up
$ vagrant ssh
$ cd /shared/site
$ jekyll new hello_world
$ cd hello_world
$ jekyll-start.sh
