Installing Jekyll 3 on Windows machines is not as simple as for Linux or OSX. We to have an excellent guide written by Julian Thilo on how to install Jekyll v2.x but it has not been updated to cover Jekyll v3.x.
Unfortunately there is a lot of breaking changes between Jekyll v2.x and v3.x but don't worry, this guide is here to help!

You can reach me for comments, updates or to propose changes by either submitting a new issue here on Github or via email at [email protected]
Enough chatter, please visit the site: https://labs.sverrirs.com/jekyll/
The website is built using Jekyll v3.3.0 and Ruby v2.2.5 on Windows. All of the material presented was tried and tested while building this site.
